Call for participants

The Pekinpah Association is announcing a new cycle of workshops, taking place in 2022 as part of the project Creative Bodies in Movement, aimed at the cultural and social integration of immigrants. We are starting the Scenography workshop on 8 March: we entrusted the mentorship of the 40-hour program, which will take place at the Cene Štupar Institute in Ljubljana, to the versatile artist, scenographer, filmmaker and curator Atej Tutta. The educational program is free for immigrants, and in addition to the symbolic registration fee, it is also intended for Slovenian youth and other professionals in the field to join.

With the Creative Bodies in Movement, we want to enable participants to acquire and deepen cultural, functional and work competencies, thus facilitating their integration into society, thus strengthening intercultural and intergenerational dialogue. A workshop program in the field of costume design is currently coming to an end, which was also introduced by the project under the mentorship of Barbara Stupica.

With a series of workshops, we want to empower participants to work independently in various fields of performing arts. Workshops cover fields of costume design, scenography, performance and theatre music.

Scenography as home and its negation

Under this title, the versatile artist and set designer Atej Tutta will carry out the workshop program in the field of scenography.

In order to make it easier to understand the work and function of the set designer, Tutta set the concept of the workshop to stem from a reflection on the relationship to our most intimate space - home. The practical part of the workshop is based on research and reflection on the human attitude to home: participants will explore the modern experience by comparing it with the concept of home in ancient times, more precisely with the five basic elements of a Roman house.

As Tutta says, contemporary scenography is as complex and bold as modern life. Certainly, thinking about scenography also means thinking about text, directing, acting, theatre in general. As a mentor, Tutta will focus mainly on stage representation, where the scenography performs a specific function. The participants will focus on the challenges of representation in the context of contemporary theatre and explore the creative possibilities of scenography on practical examples, trying to find answers to eternal questions: what is theatre and what are its specific elements?

The workshop is followed by individual counselling, at the end of which participants will receive a certificate.

The 40-hour workshop program will be taking place from 8 to 30 March 2022 at the Cene Štupar Institute at Ulica Ambrožiča Novljana 5 in Ljubljana (every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 12 to 4 pm).

The investment is co-financed by the republic of Slovenia and the European Union under the European Social Fund.

Usposabljanje na področju scenografije

Poziv za udeležence

V društvu Pekinpah najavljamo nov cikel izobraževalnih delavnic, ki v letu 2022 potekajo v sklopu projekta Kreativna telesa v gibanju, namenjenega kulturni in socialni integraciji priseljencev.

V praktičnem delu temelji delavnica predvsem na raziskavi in premisleku o človekovem odnosu do domovanja: udeleženci bodo sodobno izkušnjo le-tega raziskali s primerjavo s konceptom domovanja v času antike, natančneje s petimi osnovnimi elementi rimske hiše.
