In his book Immortality, Milan Kundera made an incisive remark: “To be mortal is the most basic human experience, and yet man has never been able to accept it, grasp it, and behave accordingly. Man doesn't know how to be mortal. And when he dies, he doesn't even know how to be dead.” The exhibition will question clichéd responses, sayings, and ideas on death. On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile Milan 2017, the Slovenia Design Showroom Milano is being presented to the public. The new incarnation is entitled "Design as the Capacity for Change: The Best of Slovenian Wood Design". Location: Galleria San Fedele, via Hoepli 3/b, Milano. Date: 3-9 April, 2017.
Information design field is richer for a comprehensive publication (edited by Alison Black, Paul Luna, Ole Lund and Sue Walker), which offers an authoritative guide to this important multidisciplinary subject. Amongst numerous contributors are also Pekinpah collaborators Barbara Predan and Petra Černe Oven.
The new Design Issues (MIT Press Journals) is out now. Very happy to be part of it with a review of the exhibition Saša J. Mächtig: Systems, Structures, Strategies.
V prvo Pekinpahovi uprizoritveni razstav, smo z združevanjem formatov sodobnih uprizoritvenih praks, razpirali večperspektivični pogled. Predstavljene so bile uprizoritvene, vizualne, glasbene in oblikovalske aktivnosti Pekinpahovih umetnikov in oblikovalcev, ki skozi različne žanre in prostorsko-časovno kontekste preslikavajo smernice nastalega, sedanjega in prihajajočega.
