Starting from the impulse to reveal the layers of their own identities and the desire to expose them fully, Dora Brkarić and Iva Katarinčić challenge traditional patterns of female identity embedded within their own bodies through raw, unfiltered expression. Delving into the roots of their upbringing in Istria—drawing on personal experiences, emotions, as well as the region’s mythology, symbolism, and rituals—they question the labels they have been assigned and explore how these shape their reality. S T R I P T E A S E is an ecstatic performance that advocates for stripping away the layers imposed on the body by societal expectations, embracing radical truth, vulnerability, and mutual collaboration.
