June 24–27, 2026, Plečnik Auditorium in Tivoli, Ljubljana
When: June 24 - June 27
Where: Plečnik auditorium in Tivoli, Ljubljana, of course
This year, the Spider stage will host Lara Barsacq, Billy Morgan, Anamaria Klajnšček, Gregor Luštek, and many other exceptional dancers and choreographers from near and far.
We will also see the return of Radical Talks, curated by Dr. Bara Kolenc, this year in a larger setting (stay tuned!), alongside a dedicated programme for children and youth, and, as always, a stellar lineup of DJs.
Another year has gone by, and from June 24 to 27, the open lawns of Ljubljana’s Tivoli Park will bring together the most current names on the contemporary dance scene as the Spider Festival – Festival of Radical Bodies kicks off. This year, we are celebrating the festival's 15th jubilee!
Spider is a contemporary dance and performing arts festival that co-creates transgenre productions and critical practices with a strong international presence. Each year, it hosts top-tier international artists and key benchmark projects from both the local and global arenas. In doing so, it actively contributes to developing a public network for independent festivals—one of the core pillars of our four-year programme.
The overarching theme of this year's festival is We Don't Know What We Don't Know. With this theme, the festival turns toward an ontological and epistemological zero, weaving a new path and offering a new, alternative approach to acquiring, processing, and articulating knowledge. This year, Spider will tackle questions such as: How are we affected by the inability to know what we do not know? Is dance a way of coexisting with the unbearableness of ignorance, or is this unbearableness a byproduct of the information age and our current pursuit of superintelligence? Can movement and Dance, as artistic practices, resist the rule of data? Can Dance, as a meaningful embodiment, counter artificial knowledge? And does it even want to?
Wings spread wide, welcome to Spider 2026.
