Call for participants

Creative Bodies in Movement is a new educational project aimed at building up the creative potential of migrants in Slovenia. With the project Creative Bodies in Movement, we encourage creative potential of migrants and intercultural and intergenerational dialogue. Through practical engagement, we enable participants to acquire and strengthen their cultural, functional and work competences, thereby facilitating their entry into the labor market, thus strengthening their integration into society.

With a series of workshops and individual counseling, we want to empower migrants to work independently and productively in various fields of performing arts. Training will take place in the areas of performance (body expression), costume design, scenography and music.

Workshops are available for the professionals as well.

The first workshop, which will be led by the renowned author Barbara Stupica, will be devoted to the field of costume design. During the workshop, the participants will first get to know the basic ways of a creative approach when creating costume elements. In collaboration with the actors, they will then imagine a stage character - either a modern one or from their own cultural heritage - and design the appropriate costume. In the visual creation of the character, the mentor will take the participants from the basics of costume design to the practical creative procedures and execution. Participants will try different materials, pieces of clothing and props and creatively explore their functionality and message in the context of the selected stage work.

The mission of the workshop is aimed at exploring creative potentials of the participants to achieve their own artistic expression, which will enable them to independently develop and realize their own costume design ideas on their future creative journey. The acquired knowledge will be verified by the premiere of a new stage work in February 2023, which will be completely designed and performed by the participants.

Udeleženci bodo preizkusili različne materiale oziroma kose oblačil in rekvizite ter v kreativnem procesu raziskali njihovo funkcionalnost in sporočilnost v kontekstu izbranega odrskega dela.
